Sis, It's Time to Share Your Story!

In writing my book, From Trauma to Triumph: The Black Woman's Journey to Waking Up Happy Every Day, I realized that it wouldn't be completed without celebrating Black Women who have triumphed over their past traumas and are now happy. It's important to show my sisters out there [who are struggling] that there is light at the end of the tunnel for them too.

For many Black women, the journey to happiness has not always been easy. Many have lived through hardships such as abuse, poverty, racism, and other forms of oppression. Often times, the pain experienced by Black women in their daily struggles goes unnoticed and unacknowledged. But despite these challenges, many Black women have managed to overcome their traumas and find true and lasting happiness.

Sharing your stories allows us to acknowledge and honor your strength, courage and resilience in healing from the trauma in your life. It provides an opportunity to offer comfort and understanding to those still struggling and encourages them on their paths to lasting happiness. By sharing your stories, we can help heal not only ourselves but also those around us.

Your story is a testament to what can be achieved when you don’t give up, even in the face of adversity. From everyday trials and tribulations to major accomplishments, we want to hear about your inspirational journey to happiness. We want to share your success stories so that it can be an example to all of us to keep going when the going gets tough!

It is my hope that through sharing these inspiring tales, someone will have their spirit uplifted and receive motivation to get the help they need while they are still struggling with their own traumas.

Sharing your story is an important part of the journey to healing and happiness. By understanding your own experiences, you can develop a greater awareness of yourself, as well as find comfort in knowing that you are not alone. For Black women, sharing their stories also serves to address the many injustices we have endured and create solidarity among those who have gone through similar traumas and struggles.

If your story is chosen to be included in the book, you will receive:

  • A signed copy of the book

  • A personal pampering set from Dolce & Lay

  • All submissions get an opportunity to share their story on the Wake Up Happy, Sis show.

I'm LeAnne Dolce, Self-Care Strategist and Chief Self-Love Officer of Wake Up Happy, Sis!  I am a long-time student of the wellness arts, a self-care accountability coach, and a certified natural and organic skincare formulator.

In my early 30s, I woke up and found myself in a serious state of depression. I was morbidly obese, overwhelmed, and feeling majorly defeated in life. I knew from that day that I had to literally change my life or die.

For many of us, we are at that same crossroads where we have to change or die trying, but you feel like if you do, so many other people are going to be hurt. If you change, what about your spouse, your kids, and your business? You feel like the whole world depends on you!

I know that feeling all too well and you know what. It was learned behavior from trauma that I experienced at different times in my life (since childhood). I had to learn how to heal from that trauma so I could prioritize myself first. Today, I help other Black Women prioritize their self-care and wellness for themselves. Not to be a better mother, wife, or boss, but to be a better person for themselves first.

I created the Wake Up Happy, Sis! Network for Black women to help them reconnect with their feminine energy and heal from past trauma so they can live their best lives without guilt. To learn more about Wake Up Happy Sis, head on over to wakeuphappysis.com and join our mailing list.
